What to see in Westfjords
Vistfirðir (in Spanish: Western Fjords) is one of the eight Icelandic regions located in the northwest of the country. It is located mainly in the peninsula of the same name, in the Arctic Ocean. Its main locations are the capital, Isefjörður, and Bíldudalur.
It has an area of 9,409 square kilometers, so in terms of extension it is comparable with Cyprus. It has a population of 7,374 inhabitants (2008), which corresponds to less than 3% of the population of Iceland and a population density of 0.784 residents per km².
